Now Alcohol Cures Cancer?

Just to add fuel to KFC's 'Buckets for the Cure" fire, now you can purchase Mike's Hard Lemonade and Chambord Vodka to cure breast cancer. Thankfully, the "cure breast cancer by throwing money at more drugs and treatment instead of prevention" camp is finally saying enough is enough, and accusing the alcohol companies of pinkwashing - using their cause for marketing purposes only.

Honestly, this is all becoming a joke. A sad joke. ::Sigh::

  1. For quite a few years now every time I see one of those pink ribbons I just cringe! Pinkwashing is a good term for it. We are so marketed to at nearly every turn.

  2. That seriously is a joke. The pink ribbon thing is so annoying because it's so obviously just a marketing ploy!

  3. Anytime any product is "pinkwashed" the manufacturer donates to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. That organization is making great strides in the cure and treatment of breast cancer. Perhaps you should get your facts straight before you start judging. Practice what you preach! Judge not...you know the rest.

  4. Anonymous - not judging so much as pointing out the inconsistencies. Alcohol causes cancer and cures nothing. This is all marketing. If we want to cure cancer, let's be logical about it at the very least! I disagree about the Susan G Komen Foundation making great strides in the cure and treatment of cancer, though. The cure is all over the place, they just have hoards of pharmaceutical companies invested in finding a pharma cure, and not a natural one. To each their own, I just don't buy that they are who they say they are. They are lining far too many pockets of big pharma to not be suspect. How dare I question the almighty Komen Foundation. I might look cold hearted, right? Well, be that as it may, I want people to see through the hype. And alcohol and fried chicken are hype.

  5. Don't forget the pink bubble wrap. It is essential in the quest for a cure.

  6. I believe can't websites like this one slams companies like this one when they donate hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not millions, for cancer research! Take a look at yourself for a moment and think of what you have you done to raise money or awarness?
